Jeanette Is Home

Jeanette, whose journals we share with you on this blog, went on ahead into the presence of the Lord this morning (Tuesday, November 30, 2010) at 9:45. Her well-fought battle is finished. She wins.

One of the grievous parts for the family at her side during these last weeks has been her thirst. The cancer prohibited the intake of anything but the smallest amount of moisture. We spoke some of the prospect of the first person she meets on the other side offering her a refreshing drink like none she had ever had before. Jesus is, after all, the one who called us to come to him and drink

Gone now are her days of thirst.
Gone, too, the constant pain.
Cancer has done its worst
And been defeated by life again.
